In 2005 Dorian relocated to Yorkshire and switched his attention to composition. Since then

In 2010 Dorian returned to studying and completed an ALCM (Composition) in 2011, followed by an LLCM (Composition) in 2012, as an external student with the London College of Music. During this time Dorian composed numerous choral works (SATB, SSA & TTBB) and ensemble arrangements, which are published on his own web site www.modalmusic.co.uk.

In May 2024 he won the UK Composer category at the Cornwall International Male Choral
Festival with his composition ‘ Row Brothers, Row’.

He was the musical director for Chapel-en-le-Frith Ladies Choir for seven years, of the
Halifax Cube Choir for over two years, and of The Oldham Choir for seven years. Currently, he is also the musical director of New Mill Male Voice Choir and Saddleworth Sing for Pleasure Choir.
He also works as an examiner for Trinity College London (on the Rock & Pop Syllabus) and for Pearson Edexcel (for A2 Music Technology).

LOUISE BRENNAN - Accompanist

Music has been a constant thread throughout Louise’s life. She began playing the piano at the age of six, later taking up the clarinet and achieving a distinction at Grade 8 – an accomplishment that led to an invitation to audition for the Royal College of Music in London. She became a church organist at just 14 and has since built a remarkable career as an accompanist, teacher and musician.

Alongside her musical life, Louise spent most of her working career in administrative and secretarial roles. She was PA to a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Editorial Assistant for an international ophthalmology journal – a role she loved and which took her to many parts of Europe and America. Before retiring in April 2025, she also served as Office Manager for a group of medical consulting rooms in Manchester.

Louise has more than 40 years’ experience as a piano teacher and is a highly sought-after accompanist for choirs, soloists and exam students. In addition to Saddleworth Male Voice Choir, she is accompanist for The Oldham Choir, Saddleworth Musical Society and the Oldham Music Centre Junior, Intermediate and Youth Choirs. She is also a committed church organist, performing regularly across the local area.

Louise is married to Graham, and together they love spending time with their family – their three adult children, Nicola, Mark and Luke, and grandchildren, Lyla and Noah.

ELAINE CHAPMAN - Accompanist

Elaine obtained an honours degree in early years education (specialising in music) at Manchester Polytechnic and also gained her LTCL piano teaching diploma.
She has been playing the piano since the age of nine and also played the recorder, guitar and viola.

She has always loved working as an accompanist and has worked with many local choirs and musical societies together with her husband Dave who is a musical director, composer/arranger and trumpet player.

Elaine works as a part time supply teacher and lives in Mossley with Dave. They have two
grown up daughters and four grandchildren.
