LOUISE BRENNAN - Accompanist

Louise joined Saddleworth Male Voice Choir’s musical team in
May 2012 and brings with her a wealth of experience as an accompanist,
piano teacher and performer.

She has become accepted as an accomplished accompanist and is in
great demand by choirs, soloists, exam students and many operatic
societies in the Greater Manchester area. She has accompanied a
number of school choirs and Oldham Music Centre choirs in concerts
and festivals. Louise is also a very busy piano teacher and church organist
and is accompanist for The Oldham Choir, and for Saddleworth Musical Society.

Away from music Louise works as a PA to a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon running a busy
clinical and medico legal Practice in Manchester. Louise is married to Graham
and they have three grown up children.

ELAINE CHAPMAN - Accompanist

Elaine joined the choir's musical team in September 2014, having previously
'deputised' as a rehearsal accompanist on several occasions.

She obtained an honours degree in early years education (specialising in music)
at Manchester Polytechnic and also gained her LTCL piano teaching diploma.
She has been playing the piano since the age of nine and also played the
recorder, guitar and viola, which she has recently taken up again and plays with
the Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has always loved working as an accompanist, playing for her school choir when at high school, and accompanying students for auditions, exams and concerts. She has worked with Mossley, Dukinfield, and New Mills Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Societies, and the Woodley Players, together with her husband Dave who is a well-known local musical director, composer/arranger and trumpet player.
She also plays keyboard in the Broadway Big Band, which is based in Greenfield, and was church organist at St John’s Church in Dukinfield for over 25 years. Elaine lives in Mossley with Dave, and works as a nursery teacher. They have two grown up daughters and two granddaughters.


SYLVIA HOARE - Rehearsal Accompanist

Sylvia studied piano at the Berkshire Conservatoire of Music, Reading,
where she gained her L.R.A.M. teaching Diploma. Soon after coming to live
in Saddleworth, she joined Saddleworth Musical Society and was their
principal accompanist for over 40 years. She concurrently accompanied
Oldham Choral Society for ten years, and became SMVC's accompanist
in 1997, having 'deputised' before then on numerous occasions.
On retiring as Principal Accompanist in June 2010 she was appointed a
choir Vice-President in recognition of her much valued service, and
continues to assist as a Rehearsal Accompanist on an occasional basis.

(Appointed MD of Delph MVC in 1954, continuing as MD on the change of
name to 'Saddleworth MVC' in 1955, until his sudden and untimely passing.)
