  Our Musical Team

ELAINE CHAPMAN - Accompanist

Elaine joined the choir's musical team in September 2014, having previously

'deputised' as a rehearsal accompanist on several occasions.

She obtained an honours degree in early years education (specialising in music)

at Manchester Polytechnic and also gained her LTCL piano teaching diploma.

She has been playing the piano since the age of nine and also played the

recorder, guitar and viola, which she has recently taken up again and plays with

the Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has always loved working as an accompanist, playing for her school choir when at high school, and accompanying students for auditions, exams and concerts. She has worked with Mossley, Dukinfield, and New Mills Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Societies, and the Woodley Players, together with her husband Dave who is a well-known local musical director, composer/arranger and trumpet player.

She also plays keyboard in the Broadway Big Band, which is based in Greenfield, and was church organist at St John’s Church in Dukinfield for over 25 years. Elaine lives in Mossley with Dave, and works as a nursery teacher. They have two grown up daughters and two granddaughters.

LOUISE BRENNAN - Accompanist

Louise joined Saddleworth Male Voice Choir’s musical team in

May 2012 and brings with her a wealth of experience as an accompanist,

She has become accepted as an accomplished accompanist and is in

great demand by choirs, soloists, exam students and many operatic

societies in the Greater Manchester area.  She has accompanied a

number of school choirs and Oldham Music Centre choirs in concerts

and festivals.  Louise is also a very busy piano teacher and church organist
